The city government must take action
Vienna (OTS) – The situation at the northern entrance to the Oberlaa spa park in Favoriten remains unbearable. Despite initial measures such as concrete barriers and closed parking spaces, residents suffer from nighttime disturbances, drinking sessions and mountains of rubbish. FPÖ district party chairman LAbg. Stefan Berger criticizes the city’s failure over the years to implement effective solutions.
“It is scandalous that the city has known about the problems for years and has only acted half-heartedly. The residents are at the mercy of roaring engines, loud parties and increasing crime. The round table we have called for has so far been rejected. And otherwise there is both acquiescence “The town hall and the district council are silent,” says Berger angrily and explains further:
“Special circumstances require special measures. For the FPÖ there are no prohibitions on thinking; everything that helps residents, spa park visitors and the catering industry should be considered. But the city, district and police give the impression that they are capitulating to the situation and leaving the population alone with their fate.”
The residents are demanding road bumps and a night driving ban, which has not yet been implemented. “It is shameful that the city of Vienna does not offer its citizens the necessary protection,” Berger continues. “We demand immediate action and increased police presence.”
Berger announces that he will submit a corresponding application to the next local council. “We will continue to fight to ensure that both Mayor Ludwig and district leader Franz finally assume their responsibilities and implement the urgently necessary measures,” concludes Berger.
