FPÖ-Berger: Again a state of war in Vienna-Favoriten

The SPÖ and ÖVP are allowing parts of the district to degenerate into a “no-go area”.

Vienna (OTS) For the FPÖ favorite district party chairman, LAbg. Stefan Berger, the recent riots on the night before New Year’s Eve in Vienna-Favoriten are a frightening testimony to the failure of the current federal and city governments. “These conditions must be condemned in the strongest possible terms and the political leaders of the SPÖ and ÖVP must be clearly named for this development,” says Berger, noting that these riots have increased dramatically in recent years.

“Year after year we experience the same scenes of violence and chaos in Favoriten. This is a direct result of the ignorance and mispolicy of red and black in the area of integration and security policy in Favoriten. Reumannplatz was recently renovated with tens of millions of euros, and now it is only being talked about as a pyrotechnic battlefield and staging area for Erdogan supporters,” explains the Freedom Council, noting that the recent events also make clear the failure of the video surveillance celebrated by the ÖVP . “Despite the high level of investment in this technology, the prevention and containment of violence remains inadequate.”

Berger is therefore calling for a massive increase in the number of police forces in Favoriten. “This is the only way public safety and order can be restored,” explains Berger and also calls for a consistent deportation policy for foreigners who have committed criminal offenses. “It must be clear that Austria does not tolerate violations of the law and takes decisive action against those who disregard our laws and public safety,” concluded Berger.
