Four ORF radio productions awarded the “Adult Education Radio Prize 2023”.

Vienna (OTS) This year’s 26th “Adult Education Radio Awards” went to Alexander Musik, Natasa Konopitzky, Andrea Kandioler-Kiml, Elisabeth Stratka, Elisabeth Scharang and Barbara Zeithammer for Ö1 productions and to Elisabeth Scharang, Claus Pirschner and Diana Köhler from FM4. The award ceremony took place on Tuesday, December 12th in the ORF RadioKulturhaus in Vienna; the award speech was given by Walter Hämmerle, head of the domestic policy department of the “Kleine Zeitung”.

“I would like to warmly congratulate the winners of the Radio Prize for Adult Education. The team of ORF radio journalists demonstrates the high journalistic quality and professional work with every broadcast. The award of this important radio prize is an award for quality journalism,” said ORF radio director Ingrid Thurnher.

In the culture category, Alexander Musik and Natasa Konopitzky were honored for their “Ton tracks” edition “Anger is my territory:
The writer Virginie Despentes” was honored.

In the Documentation, Information category, Andrea Kandioler-Kiml and Elisabeth Stratka won the prize for their “audio pictures” “Femicide No. 30” about the 30th murder of a woman in Austria in 2021.

Elisabeth Scharang and Barbara Zeithammer convinced with “Save who can be saved”. How can we close the massive gaps in care in child and adolescent psychiatry in Austria?” and won the Conversations, Debates category with this “Point One” issue.

Elisabeth Scharang, Claus Pirschner and Diana Köhler won the radio award in the category of broadcast series, focus topics for their broadcast series “FM4 Field Recordings”. In the series, people at their diverse workplaces have their say – conversations in the middle of the action,

The jury, which includes journalists, adult educators and a media scientist, had to choose from 18 productions nominated for the award. 126 productions were submitted. The prize is awarded by ten associations of the Austrian Adult Education Conference (KEBÖ) – the Austrian Educational Centers Working Group, the Austrian Vocational Development Institute, the Austrian Library Association, the Forum for Catholic Adult Education in Austria, the Austrian Rural Training Institute, the Ring of Austrian Educational Works, the Austrian Economic Society, the Association of Austrian Trade Union Education, the Association of Austrian Adult Education Centers and the Economic Development Institute of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce – donated.
