ÖVP, SPÖ and NEOS agreed on a triple coalition in the second attempt. The three party leaders presented the coalition pact in the parliament in the morning. As announced, a budget consolidation without EU deficit procedures is planned, and there will be significant tightening in asylum law and relief for tenants. A “basic child protection” is also planned. The party experts from ÖVP, SPÖ and NEOS have already presented their joint government program Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen in a personal conversation, as the presidential office announced. The Federal President will now “carefully examine” the program, it said.
