For the international day of play on June 11th

Munich (ots) –

This summer, writing vacation greetings and LEGO® fans is even more fun: From June 5, Lego Minifigures will adorn a new special letter mark by Deutsche Post AG, which appears on the occasion of the International Day of the United Nations (UN) play. The day of action has been celebrated annually on June 11 since 2024 and is intended to draw attention to the fundamental right of children anchored in the Child Rights Convention.

Playing and having enough space and time to play are essential for the well -being and development of children. In the game, mental and physical strengths are developed and important future skills such as creativity, self -efficacy and solution -oriented action are promoted. In today’s living environment of many children, however, access to safe and stimulating scope is often limited. Only a few also know the right to play – in Germany, for example, only 25 percent of parents*.

In order to draw attention to the positive effects of playing and the fundamental right of children, the UN last year on the work of the Lego Group, the Lego Foundation and other partner organizations International Day of Play introduced as an official day of action on June 11th worldwide.

“We are committed to children every day – not only with exciting gaming experiences, but also with partnership campaigns and initiatives such as this to make children and their needs in society. With the new stamp for the international day of play, we would like to make another contribution to putting another contribution to the foreground as a LEGO group,” said Julia Goldhammer, General Manager & Vice President Europe Central Group. “Families and friends live how letters combine people and live from creativity. We are very happy to support the LEGO Group in creating more attention to the importance of play opportunities for children and celebrating the international day of playing together,” explains Benjamin Rasch, Head of Marketing and Product Management at Deutsche Post.

Die Special letter brand “Internationale Day of Playing” will be released on June 5, 2025 and will be available in selected branches of Deutsche Post AG and online. For the international day of the game, the Lego Group also plans to celebrate a number of activities and events to celebrate the action day with its important message of child rights and to focus on the well -being, development and strengthening of children as the designers of the future.
