Football: 1. FC Magdeburg: Amazing united front and flowers of evil

In the flat Bördeland, where beavers and wild boars like to say goodnight to each other, 1. FC Magdeburg is busy building its football fairy tale. Coach Christian Tietz, who arrived in February 2021, lets the Elbe townspeople play an offensive style of football that makes people’s hearts jump: dressed in blue and white, they flock to the Heinz Krügel Stadium and sing like a man and a woman for 90 minutes. Mandatory program! Just because of the infernal noise, every football lover should experience this hurricane at least once, even if it is advisable to wear local camouflage colors for reasons of caution.

The stadium population is peaceful, but reacts allergically to red and white color combinations because they illustrate evil for hot-blooded Magdeburg women. This comes from Halle. People in Halle philosophize that not all of them are stupid. Philistine tongues claim that it is exactly the same in Magdeburg on the Elbe. Yes, the football person, always ready to mock when the neighbor makes cheeky scratches in the front yard. Because the FCM is the last remaining East German club in league two to defy the onslaught of the West, while Halle is stretching all fours in the regional league, you can safely leave the flowers of evil on the Elbe in the greenhouse of torment.

1. FC Magdeburg in the 2nd Bundesliga, oh that’s beautiful! In Berlin at least for my partner and the crowd of her fellow sufferers who have had a lot to be happy about since the promotion in 2021. In the Magdeburg Tollhausstadion, Block U sets the pace. As clever as the Bördefuchse are, they founded the united front for mood reasons (note the irony!). That means: No matter whether it’s a cowl, an ultra or a normal screamer – they’re all worth the same when cheering. The ultras are a part of the whole and don’t have to constantly make sure of themselves, for example in a narrow south bend, their personal chicken coop. Some fan scenes can learn a lesson from this. We are only strong together.

A mild-mannered care company is the main sponsor of 1. FC Magdeburg and gives the jersey viewer an image of peace at a time when an arms company in Dortmund is allowed to become a sponsor and people lose their evil in various locations in Europe, Asia and Africa in tried and tested warrior style and massacred.

Schalke visited Magdeburg last Sunday, the game ended 2-2, in case any of you didn’t notice. The kick waved back and forth like a Kornfeld, sometimes Gelsenkirchen was leading, then FCM, and in the end nobody was leading.

Unfortunately, part of the Schalke fan scene was prevented from watching the second division game. The federal police feared a violent confrontation and did not allow around 400 away fans into the stadium. They were held for hours and processed for identification purposes. Fan representatives protested and recognized kinship against peace-loving football supporters. The police only saw criminals. The truth probably lies in the middle (buried).
