During this period, the University of Mozarteum is all about pedagogy and opens its doors to everyone who is interested in an artistic-pedagogical studies. On these days there is the opportunity to explore the university, get to know teachers and students and gain valuable insights into the courses.
The pedagogical range of courses at the University of Mozarteum comprises several teaching studies that enable medium and higher schools after completion, as well as studying instrumental/vocal pedagogy (IGP) with the authorization to teach at a public music school, and studying elementary music and dance education.
Teaching Music/Instrumental Music Education
The teacher studies of music education and instrumental musicians are optimally preparing for future teaching in medium and higher schools. In addition to artistic lessons, well -founded music theoretical and scientific knowledge are acquired, music education courses show how music can be achieved in the group, learning and practicing.
Instrumental-/Gesangspädagogik (IGP)
The study of instrumental and vocal education (IGP) is aimed at future instrumental and vocal teachers. While the knowledge of one’s own instrument or singing is promoted and expanded in the central artistic subject, the focus is on the development of one’s own pedagogical actions and the imparting of lessons on your own instrument. In addition, the students deal scientifically and practically with music pedagogical questions.
Elementary music and dance pedagogy
The studies qualify for diverse established and new professional fields at the interfaces of artistic-pedagogical work in social diversity. The experience of an artistic practice is synonymous with the preparation for an educational profession. Students are enabled to create creativity-enhanced approaches to music, dance and language and to promote people in their artistic expression ability, deal with art forms from the past and present and learn to initiate diverse encounters with the arts.

Art hits didactics: The teacher studies of the picture education combines scientific and practical approaches in painting, drawing, graphics, sculpture and photography/new media. Combined with another teacher subject, exciting perspectives open up in school lessons.

Creativity and sustainability in harmony! This teaching degree attaches particular importance to creative design in the areas of design, fashion and technology. Reflection on materiality and sustainability is also promoted – ideal for future teaching design.
