FMK mobile phone driver’s license starts in the second round at the start of school

Vienna (OTS) –

With the start of the new school year 2025/26, the FMK mobile phone driver’s license for children and young people goes into the second round.

Austria’s adolescents deal more sensitive to data than generally accepted

The first evaluations of the FMK mobile phone driver’s license at the end of the last semester have already shown that young people are more careful with personal data than generally assumed and are interested in practical information on the safe use of smartphones and tablets. The project not only strengthens digital skills, but also helps to raise awareness of data protection and reflected media use at an early stage.

With 22 out of 25 correctly answered questions about the mobile phone driver’s license

The exam for the FMK mobile phone driver’s license is designed as an online quiz with 25 questions that focus on reflected use of mobile devices and their possibilities. If you answer at least 22 of the 25 questions correctly, you will receive the official FMK mobile phone driver’s license in the form of a personalized certificate. Since the introduction at the end of the last semester, over 1,000 certificates have been issued.

The basis for the exam is the interactive tablet course “Mobile Generation”, which was developed for the 6th to 8th school level. Accompanying teaching material is available online free of charge and without registration. The aim is to impart a low -threshold youthful knowledge and to sensitize them to topics such as data protection, digital security and the reflected use of social media.
