The FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup in the Montafon is once again marking a sporty highlight in the event calendar of the southernmost valley Vorarlberg: From 20 to 22 March 2025, the best snowboard athletes in the world meet in the ski area of the Silvretta Montafon. Under the proven motto “Sport am Mount and Party in the Valley”, the international elite is fighting for coveted podium places, while a varied supporting program with DJ sound and live music ensures the best entertainment in the valley.
Sport on the mountain: The Grasjoch as a World Cup stage
The Grasjoch in the Silvretta Montafon ski area is already the second year meeting point for the international elite at the FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup in the Montafon. With its length, the winding route meets the World Cup requirements for 2027 and thus promises fast heats. The target area is easily accessible for pedestrians via a specially created winter hiking trail with a ten -minute walk from the mountain station of the Grasjoch Bahn. Ski and snowboard drivers get the best view of the races along the route and directly in the finish area, including the “video wall”.
Local hero Alessandro Hämmerle on World Cup point hunting
After a qualification day on Thursday, March 20, on Friday, March 21st, and on Saturday, March 22nd, there are two exciting racing days for the snowboard crossers. Exciting heats and narrow decisions will not be missing this year again – this is ensured by the international elite, especially local hero Alessandro Hämmerle. The winner of five SBX World Cup races in the Montafon and Olympic champion 2022 again leads a strong Snowboard Austria Team, which among other things belongs to the reigning world champion Jakob Dusek and the Wahl-Vorarlberg Julian Lüftner. In addition, the Montafoner Elias Leitner will be at the start at a World Cup in the Montafon for the first time. The Lower Austrian Pia Zerkhold is aiming for a top placement for women.
Party in the valley: St. Gallenkirch as a meeting point for celebrations
A varied supporting program will be offered in St. Gallenkirch away from the racetrack on Friday and Saturday. Various live acts and DJs provide the best entertainment and invite you to celebrate together around the Silvretta Park Montafon and in the surrounding restaurants in St. Gallenkirch.
