Fire in patient rooms in the Floridsdorf Clinic

A fire broke out in a patient room in the Floridsdorf Clinic, shortly before midnight. The fire was triggered by an oxygen-supplied patient who wanted to smoke. The immediately triggered sprinkler system immediately extinguished the fire, the staff on duty reacted quickly. The patient suffered burns in the face and neck area. He is currently being cared for in intensive care in the Floridsdorf Clinic, and his state of health is stable.

Two security employees and four employees from the clinical sector were examined and treated for possible flue gas inhalation. All 30 patients of the affected station could be moved to other stations internally. In the course of today, comprehensive damage assessment and the planning of the affected patient’s room will take place. (Continued) Red
