The late summer in Aspern Seestadt is all about community, culture and joie de vivre. Several events invite you to discover, enjoy and participate. The Seestadt street festival on August 29 and the Donaustadt sports festival on September 6th, both organized by the association “Good from the Seestadt”, bring people from all over the district and beyond – in the middle of one of the most lively districts of Vienna. In addition, the Seestadt has a diverse art and cultural program. Above all with the lake: Art Festival, which offers the opportunity to discover the diverse cultural landscape of the Seestadt for over four weeks. On Friday, August 29, the Seepark district in the Seestadt turns into a lively festival mile. From 12:00 p.m., regional companies, creative initiatives and committed clubs will present their offer – from culinary delicacies to craft to music and children’s program. Street artists, live bands and numerous hands-on stations invite you to stroll and linger. On the occasion of the “Long Night of the Viennese markets” that also takes place, the standers of the Mazzuco market are also open until 11:00 p.m. As a crowning glory of the street festival at 8:00 p.m. in the VHS cultural architecture, the opening concert of the DO: Now.Stadt Festival 2025 from “Vereter & the Woharm Saving“Instead. Sports festival with a lot of prominence and dance with Chris Lachmuth in the park
On Saturday, September 6th, the Seestadt is all about movement. After the 9th sea town in the morning the first Sports festival Donaustadt People of all ages get going and make the variety of the Donaustadt sports clubs visible. More than 25 clubs and organizations present their offers- from children’s gymnastics to martial arts, from marginal to trend sports, from rowing on the lake to movement offers for people with disabilities. There are participation opportunities for trial training and mini competitions. A colorful supporting program brings music and interviews with Austrian sports celebrities like the Snowboard world champion Heidi Neururer, Football legend Michael Konseldem long-time national handball player Roland Schlinger or the multiple Rowing world champion Christoph Schmölzer on stage. The lively moderation and dance sessions come from Dance professional Chris Lachmuththat will ensure the right rhythm with Radio Vienna. At 7:30 p.m. there is another highlight of the do: Now.Stadt Festival in the VHS cultural arise on the program: The concert of the Vienna Groove Orchestra with Miriam Fussenegger and Luke tips.
Art and culture around the asperner See
That of Lllll, Association for Art of Presentin cooperation with Atelier Michael Farkashazy, Donaustadt.Kultur and Vienna 3420 initiated SEE:ART From August 22nd, the festival shows contemporary art, performances, workshops and readings in studios, studios but also in public space.
The opening will take place on August 22nd from 4:00 p.m. at the Info-Bar Symposium (U2 Station Seestadt-exit Seestadt promenade).
