Vienna (OTS) – Federal Minister Norbert Totschnig honored Felix Montecuccoli on “Forest Day” for his decades of commitment to Austrian agriculture and forestry. A look back at his career shows his many achievements!
Felix Montecuccoli was born with a passion for preserving local forests. His extensive wealth of experience comes not only from studying forestry, but above all from running his own business in Lower Austria. More than two decades ago, Montecuccoli began working for Land & Forest Companies Austria. Initially as an employee and later as chairman of the Land & Forest companies in Lower Austria, he was elected President of the Land & Forest companies in Austria from 2005, a position which he would hold for almost 20 years.
Felix Montecuccoli is known as a passionate forester both in the local forestry industry and in his large EU-wide network. During his career he served on countless committees and committees. A particular success of his work is the forest fund established in 2020, through which 350 million euros in support for the Austrian forestry industry were made available by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management. The new President of Land & Forest Companies Konrad Mylius also notes the achievements of his predecessor: ‚‚I would like to sincerely thank Felix Montecuccoli, who in his tasks always tried to strengthen sustainable forest management as well as the personal responsibility and freedom of choice of Austrian land managers. This commitment is particularly evident through his persistent commitment and the great cooperation with politicians and partners. I am pleased that he will remain with the association not only as a member, but also as honorary president!‘‘
For his efforts, Federal Minister Norbert Totschnig awarded Felix Montecuccoli the Gold Medal of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria. When receiving the award, the Federal Minister emphasized: ‚‚Felix Montecuccoli has had a significant impact on agriculture and forestry in recent decades. Above all, he always impressed with his specialist knowledge, his openness to new things and his passion. In addition, he always followed his words with actions! I am pleased to be able to award Felix Montecuccoli the Golden Medal of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria for his outstanding achievements. I would like to thank you very much for your tireless commitment to Austrian agricultural and forestry policy!‘‘
And Felix Montecuccoli was also happy about the big award at the end of his work as LFBÖ President: “Twenty years ago I could never have imagined the numerous achievements. At this point I would like to thank all my companions inside and outside the association. Only through our joint commitment have we managed to achieve so much for the local forest and Austrian land managers. And I will definitely continue to be a passionate forester!”
Felix Montecuccoli’s enormous expertise and valuable contributions will certainly be fondly remembered throughout the agricultural and forestry sector. Exchange beyond the association was always very important to him. In his diverse projects, he never lost sight of those solutions that would not only benefit land managers, but also the entire industry and the entire value chain.
