Today after 4:00 p.m. a 21-year-old recruit was shot and injured in the Türk barracks in Spittal an der Drau. The shot came from the pistol of a 20-year-old guard soldier with the rank of corporal. Both are military servicemen and belong to the Carinthia military command and both come from the Spittal an der Drau district. The rescue chain was activated and the injured person was flown to the hospital in the emergency helicopter. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified by an accident commission of the Carinthia military command. A military psychologist looks after the people in the barracks.
