Major projects in Zeltweg make temporary flight operations from Linz-Hörsching necessary
Vienna (OTS) – From Friday, June 21, 2024 to Monday, September 16, 2024, the Eurofighters will take off and land at the alternative airfield in Linz-Hörsching on a few days. This measure is made necessary by a series of major events around the Hinterstoisser Air Base in Zeltweg.
“In order to maintain continuous training and operational flight operations, continuous unrestricted use of the infrastructure at Hinterstoisser Air Base is necessary. Due to some major events, such as ‘Schutzschild 24’ or AIRPOWER24, this cannot be fully guaranteed. The move to Linz-Hörsching also offers a good opportunity to practice all the measures that are necessary to maintain orderly flight operations away from the home base,” said Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner.
Eurofighter flight operations from the “Forward Operating Site” (FOS) Linz-Hörsching are planned for the following periods:
- June 21 to 24, 2024
- July 5th to 8th, 2024
- August 9th to 12th, 2024
- August 30 to September 10, 2024
- September 13th to 16th, 2024
