FCG-NÖ: Successful works council and staff representatives conference in Altlengbach

St. Pölten (OTS) The world of work is subject to major changes due to advancing digitalization and artificial intelligence. For this reason, the FCG Lower Austria invited people to a conference in Altlengbach on June 21, 2024 to discuss this forward-looking topic with numerous employee representatives from all over Lower Austria and to develop solutions for colleagues in the companies and departments.

FCG federal chairwoman Romana Deckenbacher emphasized in her welcoming speech: “We are in the middle of the digital revolution and it is our job to take people across generations with us and to put them at the center. As Christian trade unionists, we differ from other factions by the “C” in our name, which stands for the values of solidarity, personality, subsidiarity and the common good. That’s why it’s our concern to defend human dignity in the world of work and advocate for better working conditions!”

The state chairman of FCG Lower Austria, Matthias Deiser, warmly thanked the many works council members and staff representatives: “I would like to thank you very much! The great commitment and tireless commitment to your colleagues in the companies and departments cannot be taken for granted! The fundamental challenges of digitalization require that we respond in a targeted manner to the concerns of employees. For us, the ideas come from the grassroots and are carried upwards!”

The deputy head of the section for digitalization and e-government in the Federal Chancellery, Wolfgang Ebner, gave the main lecture at the event entitled “Artificial intelligence in the world of work”. He stated: “Artificial intelligence is here to stay. It has the potential to change our entire living and working world. That is why the federal government has developed its own AI strategy that covers many areas in order to be able to respond adequately to the requirements of this development.”

As part of a top-class panel discussion moderated by FCG education officer Karin Petter-Trausznitz, FCG-NÖ state chairman Matthias Deiser, FCG general secretary Michael Schediwy-Klusek and the deputy NÖAAB-FCG parliamentary group leader in the AKNÖ, Josef Hager, discussed about the central challenges of the modern working world.
