Far Eastern New Century promotes opportunity and sustainability through its latest recycling technologies at TITAS

Far Eastern New Century Corporation (FENC), a global leader in promoting sustainability and innovation in green materials, showcased its latest at the Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS), held October 15-17, 2024 Recycling technologies and product solutions under the motto “Empowering Possibilities & Sustainability”. A total of 385 suppliers from eleven countries took part in this year’s TITAS, attracting around 31,500 buyers to the event.

FENC’s groundbreaking products, FENC®ThermalSync ZoneTech and FENC®TOPGREEN®Bio3, have been named winners of the prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD 2024. These products were selected from 10,807 entries from 72 countries and have proven to be outstanding innovations. This makes FENC the only iF-awarded provider of environmentally friendly functional knitwear. FENC® TOPGREEN®Bio3 PET represents a revolutionary approach to sustainability. This innovative material combines carbon capture technology with biotechnology, transforming industrial waste gases into low-carbon polyester. In 2024, Bio3 PET was selected as the material for the Chinese Taipei team’s uniforms at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.

FENC’s innovative TOPGREEN®rTEX recycling process, which entered production in 2024, provides an effective solution for processing textile waste and meets increasing customer demand. Using FENC’s state-of-the-art e-sorting technology and proprietary recycling processes, this system significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions during production and efficiently converts textile waste into high-quality filament. FENC is poised to lead the shift towards a circular economy in the textile sector at this critical turning point for the global industry.

For the Paris Olympics, FENC’s high-performance, 100% recycled fabrics were selected for a range of national team jerseys. These include basketball training jerseys and vests for nine national teams, polo shirts for 14 football teams, running uniforms for the British team, handball jerseys for the French team and boxer shorts for the Cuban team, all sponsored by international sports giants such as Nike, Adidas, Decathlon and PUMA .

FENC’s commitment to sustainability doesn’t stop at the Olympics. The company’s green innovations have also made a splash at other major sporting events this year, including the Australian Open 2024, the Spanish team at UEFA Euro 2024, UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid, the victorious Argentina team at the America’s Cup and 2024 FA Cup winners Manchester United.

To promote the circular economy in the footwear industry, FENC has replaced complex components such as PU and EVA with polyester materials for all parts of the shoes. These include elastic polyester fibers, leather and hot melt adhesives made from recycled PET bottles, which offer high durability and recyclability and contribute to the goal of making shoes fully recyclable in the future
