Last Tuesday the topping-out of the new theme restaurant was celebrated in the Family Park. In addition to the executing companies, the deputy mayors of the neighboring communities of St. Margarethen and Rust and other guests were also present. The new Filippo’s Restaurant, which will meet state-of-the-art standards, is scheduled to begin operations in July 2025 and serve up to 460 guests.
In September 2024, demolition work began on the previous Restaurant Filippo in the heart of the Family Park. Just a few weeks later, shortly after Halloween, the first walls of the new building were up. This will not only offer space for over 260 guests indoors and 200 guests on the terrace, but also lounges for employees and additional office space on the upper floor.
The ambitious construction period of less than a year requires particularly efficient project organization. With the help of lean management, all work has so far been carried out as planned. The scale of the project is made clear by impressive figures:
- 1.000 m³ Beton and 87,000 kg of reinforcement were processed in the first three months.
- 2,300 m² of prefabricated walls and 3,500 m² of prefabricated ceiling elements were installed.
“Extensive planning work in advance and the excellent project coordination of all the company partners involved make it possible for the construction to progress smoothly. We are confident that we will remain on schedule and open the new Filippo’s Restaurant in July.”
This week the topping-out was celebrated with a celebratory party. The speakers included Ing. Stephan Ruesch, authorized signatory of the executing construction company Sedlak GmbH, project coordinator Christian Rassner from Bauhandwert and Lisa Wagner-Körmendi, representative of the client. Also present were the deputy mayors of the municipalities of St. Margarethen and Rust, Christian Schriefl and Georg Seiler, as well as Manfred Widder, chairman of the Rust wine growing association.
After the traditional verdict and the handover of the equal money, the guests were able to visit the building. The evening ended in a relaxed manner with a themed buffet.
The total cost of the project is 8.2 million euros. Particular attention was paid to commissioning local companies to carry out the construction.
