Only: He was good for a false Moshiach because so many accepted him as the true one; For a true Moshiach, however, he would have been quite miserable because even more people thought he was the wrong one.

In any case: There are many false Moshiachs, but there is only one true one. You have to say: This is a pretty unpleasant relationship. It would be much nicer if there were many true Moshiachs and only one false one. However, since there is only one Moshiach, the false Moshiach would be the true Moshiach in this case because only he is one would be and the right many.
