With today, the assessment period for the new Electricity Economic Act (ELWG) has ended after extended period. At the request of the FPÖ, the original statement period was extended by two weeks – a step that turned out to be a complete success.
“A total of 514 statements were brought in, a clear sign of the broad public interest and the need for a deeper discussion about the future of the Austrian power supply. Without our initiative, this intensive examination of the law would not have been possible and many experts would have remained unheard of,” explains FPÖ energy spokesman Axel Kassegger.
“We see ourselves confirmed by the large number of very well-founded statements in our attitude: For example, the current-announced electricity price-reduced guarantee has turned out to be a pure marketing mesh-as we already proposed at the beginning of the debate. The regulation on the so-called pricing law also does not bring any additional legal certainty,” says Paul Hammerl.
The debate about the future distribution of network costs shows the disagreement in the government parties.
“While the black-red-pink lamp is striving for a distribution of the exploding network costs between producers and consumers, Governor Doskozil sees his profits from wind power, which he urgently needs for the pleit-risk country Burgenland. Conversely, Governor Mikl-Leitner and deputy Stephan Pernkop Achleitner, only about how to keep your angry voter clientel happy, which has fallen into the green fairy tale of “Sonne and Wind Send an invoice”. It is very time that the ÖVP admits that it went on the glue to the Greens and the ideology driven in recent years has caused damage to our country! ”Said Axel Kassegger.
“Now the invoice is available and it costs ꞓ 53 billion in network investments by 2040. This only means doubling the network costs within the next 4 years. As is known, the network costs are paid for a surcharge system, i.e. from those with a power connection. There is no individual euro from the Federal Budget. And well -coordinated network expansion, otherwise we all will no longer be able to afford the network costs, ”explains Paul Hammerl.
“The desired energy market reform is urgently necessary, just like a fundamental change in the funding system. A” no further as before! ” Every day on which the energy market does not receive the promised flexibility, on which completely inefficient funding does not reduce the energy price, but even more expensive, on which the network costs are exorbitant, is another day with damage to Austria, ”says Axel Kassegger.
“Our goal is clear: we have to be able to reduce the total energy costs. This is not only about the price of electricity itself, but also about the costs for the power grids and the high taxes and levies that massively make the energy price for households and businesses.
Analyze the statements and continue to continue technical discussions
The FPÖ takes the statements introduced very seriously and will analyze and evaluate them carefully. It is clear to the freedom: well -founded legislation can only arise on the basis of a broad professional discourse. That is why FPÖ MPs have had intensive discussions with experts from various areas for weeks-including representatives of interest associations, authorities, companies, associations, scientific institutions and committed citizens.
“These discussions are continued in the session -free period of parliament in order to discuss the different perspectives and specialist opinions. It must be our claim to meet the complex requirements of a modern, safe and affordable energy supply. We rely on fact -based politics and on dialogue with those who are confronted with the challenges of the energy market every day. Indispensable for us to further sharpen our positions and further develop sustainable solutions, ”emphasize the two FPÖ MPs.
