The Canary Islands Tourism Authority is bringing the game „Find the Seasouls“ an interactive experience on the Roblox platform. The aim is to raise awareness among young generations about environmental protection and to promote respect for natural parks, protected areas and the biodiversity of the Canary Islands.
The tourism marketing agency of the Canary Islands points with the launch of „Find the Seasouls“ into the future: The Canary Islands will become the first European destination on Roblox, a platform used daily by more than 80 million people worldwide. The social gaming world is considered one of the most important virtual meeting places for the Alpha and Z generations – teenagers and young adults who were born between 1995 and 2010 and between 2010 and 2025, respectively.
„Find the Seasouls“ is an interactive experience designed to encourage young generations to protect the environment. Playfully calls for respect for natural parks, protected habitats and biodiversity on the Canary Islands. In the game, users travel with their avatars across the eight Canary Islands. From the volcanic landscapes of Lanzarote to the juniper forests of El Hierro, players discover impressive virtual replicas of nature and search for very special sea creatures, the “Seasouls” figures. These are modeled on the animals that actually live in the Canary Islands. The development of the Creatures from the game were created in collaboration with renowned oceanographer Cristina Fernández Gil to authentically represent biological diversity.
The traveler of the future learns through play
The aim of this game is to appeal to the tourists of the future (Generations Alpha and Z) and raise their awareness about environmental protection when traveling.
Since the experience on the virtual platform is aimed primarily at the little ones, it was designed to focus on values around the topic of sustainability and to limit screen time.
Roblox automatically translates the video game into fourteen languages - including Spanish, English, German, French and Portuguese.
Find the Seasouls is a project by the creative agency Flecher.co, developed by Brandnewverse and subsidized by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
