Kaleen will represent Austria at the “Eurovision Song Contest 2024” in Malmö, where she will be competing with the techno-inspired pop track “We Will Rave”. She will sing on Thursday, May 9th, 2024, in the first half of the second semifinal for a place in the final on May 11th.
The official radio premiere of “We Will Rave” will take place on Friday, March 1st at 7:40 a.m. on the “Ö3-Wecker”. Kaleen then presents the video for the new ESC song on ORF 2’s “Guten Morgen Österreich” (8:20 a.m.). At a press conference today, Thursday, February 29, 2024, in the presence of, among others, ORF program director Stefanie Groiss-Horowitz, ORF delegation leader Stefan Zechner and artist Kaleen in the backdrop of “Rock Me Amadeus – The Falco Musical” in Ronacher, the song and the video were presented in advance.
ORF program director Stefanie Groiss-Horowitz: “The ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ celebrates musical diversity and promotes cultural solidarity on the largest TV stage in the world. But the most important thing is: the artists share a great passion for music. I am convinced that Kaleen will not only shine vocally, but will also delight the audience with her extraordinary stage show.”
Kaleen: “’We Will Rave’ is my perfect ESC song. I have the opportunity to bring everything I love into this performance and give it my all together with the audience. The song should be adaptable for everyone – be it as We Will Dance, We Will Sing, We Will Live, We Will Party… It embodies strength and positivity, even in moments of vulnerability. My goal is to give others strength to embrace life and lose themselves in music. I’m looking forward to sharing the song with my fans. With the release everything becomes even more real. I am extremely excited and looking forward to this fantastic journey! As a techno-pop track, the song is different from my previous releases. I look forward to Kaleen’s new chapter.”
And further about the song: “’We Will Rave’ describes the search for refuge when your heart is broken and you find it in music. Outsiders and hurting souls find themselves there to heal and resolve their problems. It is the sea of rhythm that washes away the pain and gives confidence.”
Kaleen about the video for the song: “The music video was shot with the internationally renowned London fashion photographer Rankin, who previously shot the cover for ‘We Will Rave’, and his team in LA at the beginning of February. The rainy, cold weather perfectly captured the atmosphere on the day of filming. A total of almost twelve hours of shooting took place on five different sets in a warehouse south of LA. The video aims to capture the dark, ecstatic, yet positive energy of the song and encourage you to celebrate and surrender to the music.”

Kaleen sings for Austria
Kaleen is a versatile artist who is successful as both a singer and a dancer. Although she began singing self-taught, she later refined her technique through formal training. The 29-year-old Upper Austrian has been dancing since early childhood and has perfected a wide repertoire of dance styles, including ballet, commercial, tap, jazz, musical, modern, Latin and standard dance. She won her first state championship title at the age of seven, and more than 100 state and European championship titles as well as five world championship titles and various special awards followed. Since 2020, Kaleen has been working as a choreographer and stage coach for, among other things, the ORF casting show “Starmania”. She taught herself how to record and produce songs professionally. Her first self-produced single was released in September 2021 under her self-founded label “Wifi Records”. After three more singles, Kaleen took on the challenge of writing and recording a full album. Her debut album “Stripping Feelings” was released in September 2023. Kaleen has also been involved in the “Eurovision Song Contest” since 2018, initially as a stand-in lead artist for rehearsals in several countries and as a dancer and choreographer for the interval act in Lisbon. In 2021 she was Creative Director of the “Junior Eurovision Song Contest” for Spain and Bulgaria and in 2022 she was Creative Director for Spain and Stage Director for the entire production. Last year, in addition to Austria, she also supported Armenia, Germany and Georgia in the “Eurovision Song Contest” with their stage implementation in Liverpool.
