Archers are bringing the European 3D Archery Championships to Carinthia. 1600 shooters take part. The organizers are assuming 25,000 additional overnight stays.
Bad Kleinkirchheim (OTS) – One of the biggest sporting events in Carinthia this year will be held in Bad Kleinkirchheim: Over 1,600 participants from 27 nations will be guests at the European 3D Archery Championships from June 21st to 29th in the mountain and thermal resort. The organizing committee has everything to do with this Wolfgang HalvaxPresident of the Carinthian Archery Association, and Mirjam Ressmann, reigning European champion and shooter in the Mittelerde sports club in Arriach, set up eight courses on 150 hectares of forest and meadows. “We are in very good communication with the landowners. Our courses are designed only for sporting events. We would be happy if there were permanently set up archery courses in Bad Kleinkirchheim in the future,” says Mirjam Ressmann. A training area for archers is to be built near the hotel “Der Kirchheimerhof ****S”. Hinteregger hotelier family I’m even thinking about running my own course in the future.

says Wolfgang Halvax, who has been dedicated to archery for over 15 years. Last year, the well-rehearsed team around Halvax and Ressmann invited people to the Austrian Championships in Bad Kleinkirchheim. With 500 participants, this was a foretaste of the European Championships.
Valuable event for the tourism region
The event is for tourism professionals 25,000 additional overnight stays bring. The Halvax estimates added value for the entire region at 4.5 million euros. Ceremony, pasta party and good mood
The tournament days begin with March of the Nations, June 23rd. At 6:00 p.m., the Bad Kleinkirchheim band and elementary school children in traditional costumes march with the athletes from the sports field to the festival area at the Kaiserburgbahn. Governor Peter Kaiser will, among other things, officially open the European Championships. The start will be from Carinthia Chor Millstatt and the Elementary school choir festively framed. There is also a lot for visitors to experience on the tournament days. In the spectator area at the sports field area, they get very close to the shooters. Anyone who would like to try their hand at archery has the opportunity to get a taste of archery at the shooting range, right next to the event site.
