Top value for Spain – Germany with up to 1.4 million fans, streams used intensively
Vienna (OTS) – The ORF broadcast 20 of 51 EURO 2024 games in Germany and the results are very positive: the ORF EURO coverage was followed by a total of 5.254 million viewers (the widest audience), which is 70 percent of the domestic TV population aged 12 and over .
The top value of the European Championship games broadcast live by ORF was achieved by the quarter-final game between Spain and Germany on July 5th the evening before with up to 1.420 million fans in extra time. On average, the extension saw 1.297 million with a 54 percent market share; in the young target groups, market shares of 72 (E-49) and 82 (E-29) were achieved.
2nd place: The round of 16 game between England and Slovakia on June 30th was attended by up to 1.319 million in extra time, with an average of 1.275 million at the decision with a 44 percent market share and 60 or 70 percent market share for E-49 or . E-29 live on ORF 1.
3rd place: Up to 1.189 million watched England – Switzerland on July 6th. On average, the penalty shootout reached 1.078 million fans with a 47 percent market share; in the young target groups, market shares of 66 (E-49) and 70 (E-29) were achieved.
On average, the 20 live games on ORF 1 achieved 563,000 reach with a 30 percent market share. Once again, the EURO proved to be a hit with young fans: in the E-49 target group, the average market share for the live games was 39 percent, and in E-29 it was even 49 percent.
Also noteworthy: The daily reporting from the new ORF sports studio in the main evening reached an average of 292,000 viewers with a 12 percent market share. Among young fans, average market shares of 19 (E-49) and 22 percent (E-29) were achieved.

The most used ORF live stream was the extension of the Spain – Germany game on July 5th with an average reach of 177,900, which is the second most popular ORF live stream since the AGTT online moving image measurement began.
