Eureka!  1.2 million saw Stipsits and Co in “Greece” on ORF

Best value for feature film since 2017

Vienna (OTS) Record for Stipsits and Co! After the successful comedy “Greece”, co-financed by ORF as part of the film/television agreement, was already the most successful domestic cinema film in 2023 with 280,000 admissions, it achieved another top score on ORF yesterday, February 28, 2024: up to 1.231 million viewers did not want to miss the film on ORF 2, an average of 1.199 million with a 43 percent market share. There was also enormous audience interest among younger viewers, with 34 and 42 percent market share in the E-49 and E-29 target groups, respectively. This makes “Greece” the most-watched 90-minute feature film since “Maria Theresia” in 2017.

ORF program director Stefanie Groiss-Horowitz: “Congratulations to the team around Thomas Stipsits, who have impressively demonstrated with ‘Greece’ that not only the cinema is still attractive to the audience, but that such productions are also capable are to inspire a broad TV audience.”

In the comedy by directors Claudia Jüptner-Jonstorff and Eva Spreitzhofer, who is also responsible for the script together with Iris Moizi and Thomas Stipsits, in addition to the main actor Stipsits, other roles also include Katharina Straßer, Claudia Kottal, Erwin Steinhauer, Mona Seefried , Gery Seidl, Margarethe Tiesel, Andreas Vitásek and Kostas Antalopoulos.
