AT&S’s new factory in Kulim produces IC substrates for the next generation of microchips for high-performance computing, data centers and AI applications from leading manufacturers such as AMD. AI will stimulate the market As current discussions show, AI will revolutionize every area of society; AI will play a role in most of society’s digital applications. And all of these applications will generate incredibly large amounts of data that will have to be processed using high-performance microprocessors. “It is precisely this global megatrend that benefits AT&S’s strategy, because we will grow primarily in and through the high-performance computing segment. “We have therefore been on a massive expansion course for many years and have decided on investment projects such as our campus in Malaysia,” says AT&S CEO Andreas Gerstenmayer. “We are proud that in such a short time and despite all the challenges such as the COVID pandemic, we have built what is probably the most modern IC substrate plant in the world and can provide the required technologies and capacities in a timely manner when the markets develop “Markets will recover from mid-2024 The current data from numerous market analysts also reinforce AT&S’s internal assessment that the market environment should move towards recovery and growth from the second half of 2024. “It is still our clear goal that AT&S is positioned among the top 3 companies on the global market.
