With the takeover of the Spanish AI specialist Insikt AI by the British company Logically, the M&A experts at management consultancy enomyc have successfully completed another international transaction. The Paris office of enomyc, which led the deal with the support of German colleagues, was exclusively commissioned by Insikt AI to find a strategic partner. The takeover creates a new multinational player in the fight against hate on the Internet.
Logically uses artificial intelligence (AI) to combat the harm caused by misleading and fraudulent online content. Barcelona-based Insikt Intelligence operates in the same area – also with the support of AI.
“We would like to thank the enomyc team, led by French Managing Partner Ian Kyanakis, for guiding us through this sales process so successfully,” says Jennifer Woodard, founder and CEO of Insikt. “With the acquisition, Logically strengthens its position as a leader in leveraging cutting-edge AI research to combat harmful content of all types.” Woodard, who will assume the role of vice president of artificial intelligence at Logically, is a recognized expert in AI applications for counterterrorism. She advises organizations such as the UN and the European Commission, among others, on balancing the use of AI to combat online harm and ethical considerations.
AI-supported against online hate speech and threats
“The acquisition is a critical step toward robust protection against increasingly sophisticated attackers, giving customers new, advanced tools to protect freedom of expression and prevent the impact of harmful online content,” said Lyric Jain, founder and CEO of Logically. The company is based in Brighouse / UK. The acquisition will integrate Insikt’s technology into Logically Intelligence®, Logically’s leading intelligence platform. Customers gain access to the most advanced methods and innovative developments based on AI research. This will improve their ability to combat a broader portfolio of online threats, including terrorism and extremism. INSIKT has outstanding capabilities in this area.
Founded in 2016, Insikt’s technology enables governments, private companies and intelligence services to identify problems early and thereby predict and contain the spread of harmful content. Awarded, among other things, four Seals of Excellence from the European Commission, Insikt has developed domain-specific machine learning (ML) models to uncover trends, threats and anomalous patterns in large amounts of online data. The company is known in professional circles for its advanced Social Network Analysis (SNA) capabilities. It enables customers to uncover hidden connections and networks by analyzing relationships critical to online intelligence operations.
