“The SPÖ has failed in residential policy. Affordable living has become a catchphrase. ‘Empty promises instead of affordable living’ is the SPÖ program,” comments Vienna’s FPÖ state party chairman City Councilor Dominik Nepin, commenting on the recent statements of SPÖ residential city councilor Kathrin Gaal.
“Vienna is confronted with a renovation backlog in the municipal building of 10 billion euros. In many plants, decent living is no longer possible,” Nepp refers to decaying municipal buildings and the criticism of the Court of Auditors. “It would be crucial in the area of Wiener Wohnen to take back rental increases in recent years in a first step. It cannot be that Viennese living remains the big winner of the wave of inflation,” says Nepp.
“The goal must be to reduce rents in the financed community building at a cooperative level. That would mean a rent saving of about a third for people. Why can’t Viennese live what every cooperative can?”, Announces Nepp initiatives in the town hall.
