The electricity price costs compensation law is intended to use the aid lines of the EU emission trade to avoid indirect carbon leakage. This is intended to prevent production shift or even emigration of companies in third countries.
Extension by 2030 essential for predictability
“For the planning security and competitiveness of the Austria location, it is essential that the SAG will be extended until 2030 beyond the intended period 2025/26-as enable the EU aid guidelines. Industry that needs to be avoided, ”emphasizes Danninger. There are currently not sufficient budgets in Austria.
