With “Red or Red: The Duel for Salzburg” and “Round of Editors-in-Chief – Analysis and Discussion”
Vienna (OTS) – Sunday, March 24, 2024 is the day of the decision in Salzburg. After the local council and mayoral elections two weeks ago, Bernhard Auinger (SPÖ) and Kay-Michael Dankl (KPÖ plus) are fighting in a runoff election for the mayor’s seat in the city of Salzburg. ORF III and the ORF regional studio invite both candidates in advance to an interview in the mayor’s office: on Friday, March 22nd, at 8:15 p.m. on ORF III – “Red or Red: The Duel for Salzburg – Confrontation of the SPÖ and KPÖ runoff candidates”.
ORF III editor-in-chief Lou Lorenz-Dittlbacher then welcomes a top-class “round of editors-in-chief” for “analysis and discussion” (8:35 p.m.) about the duel between the two top candidates and the impact of the election on federal politics. After Graz, will Austria’s fourth largest city also get a communist mayor? Is the success of the KPÖ plus a local phenomenon or does the party also have a chance of success in the National Council elections in the fall? And how should the performance of the parliamentary parties be assessed in the current primary election campaign? Guests include Hubert Patterer (Kleine Zeitung), Petra Stuiber (Der Standard), Florian Asamer (Die Presse), Andreas Koller (Salzburger Nachrichten) and Barbara Tóth (Falter).
On election day (March 24th), ORF III will broadcast the current live reporting from the ORF regional studio in Salzburg from 4:30 p.m. under the title “LIVE: Election 24 – Mayoral runoff elections in Salzburg: First results, trends and analyses.”
