For the very first time this year, the Eis-Greissler World in Krumbach (Lower Austria) will remain open during the cold season: from November 22nd, 2024 up to and including January 12th, 2025, Eis-Greissler will be hosting the Lichterglanz spectacle. The highlight of the event is a light park made up of 140 sculptures along a 1.5 kilometer long circular path.
Eis-Greissler is extending the season this year and is opening a new excursion destination for all age groups with the Lichterglanz Spektakel. The highlight of the Shine of Lights spectacle is the light park made up of 140 sparkling sculptures. Along a 1.5 kilometer long circular route there are various, partly interactive, stations and stories to discover in 9 themed worlds. The themes include the forest, the farm, the ice, but also water and clouds. They reflect the areas of the existing adventure park and sometimes also provide a preview of attractions that will be new from 2025.
Daily ice skating show with international artists
In addition to light shows along the circular route, ice skating shows take place several times a day: international artists perform in the 2-Master show tent. They impress not only with their figure skating, but also with their acrobatics and singing. The shows last around 30 minutes and are included in the admission price.
The physical well-being of the Lichterglanz Spektakel guests is taken care of in the coffee house, the “Kulinarik-Stadl” restaurant and at various punch and food stands. Three exclusive Lichterschein Spectacle ice cream flavors will also be available. Eis-Greissler is looking for ideas for these via social media until Friday, October 18th – after that there will be a vote for the top 3.
The ice cream journey through time, the virtual tour through the ice cream production and the history of Eis-Greissler, can also be visited during the shine of lights spectacle. When the weather is dry and mild (no snow or rain, no temperatures below zero), the rides familiar from summer, such as the Bucklbahn, the Milkshaker and the Cloud Catcher, are also open.
The Blochberger family also creates experiences in winter
Georg Blochberger, who opened the first Eis-Greissler branch with his wife Andrea in 2011, explains the vision behind the glittering spectacle: “We want to create experiences. Just enjoying our ice cream is an experience, but we also need places where families can come together and spend time together. The small natural playground that we opened on our premises around 8 years ago has now become an extensive adventure world with numerous attractions for young and old.”
Andrea Blochberger adds: “Our adventure park is a regular destination for many families in the summer; around 150,000 guests come every year. With the Shine of Lights Spectacle we want to do the same for the winter. We would be happy to have many families with us during Advent and the Christmas holidays. A ticket for the spectacle is a great Christmas present.”
