This has never happened before! The Christkindlesmarkt in Nuremberg receives waddling visitors: In the new comic “The Scent of Christmas” Scrooge McDuck travels to Nuremberg from November 22nd in Micky Mouse Magazine 25/2024. There, as a juror, he is supposed to award the “Golden Zwetschergmoh” for the most beautiful stand. Since the richest duck in the world doesn’t like traveling alone and can always use helpers, he has Donald Duck and Huey, Dewey and Louie with him. Pre-Christmas fun, not just in Nuremberg!
On site, Donald doubts whether his stingy uncle is the right person for this festive task. In any case, he doesn’t feel like doing any drudgery at the Christmas market because the smell of gingerbread tempts him too much. Disguised as a Christmas tree, Donald tries to escape work – until he sees the opportunity to guide his uncle on the right path and selflessly help a family.
“Christmas stories have a long tradition in Mickey Mouse Magazine,” says Johannes Kanty, editor in charge. “It’s a festival for the senses, with its glow of lights and the smell of festive treats. The Nuremberg Christmas market combines all of this in a perfect setting and the Ducks create a heartwarming story.”
And for everyone who would like to visit the original location of the comic: The Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt will be opened by the Nuremberg Christkind on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 5:30 p.m.
