Egger: Kickl is a security risk for the local economy
Vienna (OTS) –

“It is finally clear what Herbert Kickl has been doing in the last four weeks: True to the motto “Better to copy well than to do it yourself badly,” he copied the economic points from Chancellor Karl Nehammer’s Austrian plan using copy-paste,” said Kurt Egger, General Secretary of the Economic Association and Deputy No. “Support for our economic program is, in principle, welcome. However, if at the same time you block important economic policy measures and oppose the influx of qualified skilled workers, you are a turnaround and a security risk for the domestic economy.”

Before the election, the FPÖ consistently rejected key tax and economic policy measures that would strengthen the domestic economy. “Whether it was the reduction in income tax and corporate tax, the introduction of the investment bonus or the increase in the limit for low-value assets – the FPÖ has always voted against it. Apparently the economic idea hasn’t even caught on within our own ranks,” says Egger. It is precisely these measures that help companies make investments in difficult times, secure jobs and strengthen domestic competitiveness.

Dangerous lack of understanding for the business location and the labor market

What is particularly worrying is that Herbert Kickl also talks about “Fortress Austria” in the same breath as economic issues. “From care to tourism – there is a shortage of qualified specialists everywhere. A Russian-style isolation would suffocate our economy. Kickl’s fortress fantasies clearly show that the FPÖ has not understood the seriousness of the situation and is therefore jeopardizing the future viability of our companies.”
