What does a future look like in which young people have a say, research and help shape it? The educational project „StAct – Start and Act“funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Society (FFG), provides answers – and invites you to Tuesday, May 27, 2025to Closing event at the University of Education in Vienna.
The project, funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Society (FFG), has been strengthening democratic skills of students since September 2023: inside through research and active design. The aim is to make children and adolescents into active designers: to make the inside of their present and future – with a focus on social and inclusive entrepreneurship in a digital world.
The focus of the event is a so -called “Living Library”: students: Inside the schools involved (VS Seestadt Aspern, GTVS Hahngasse, MSI Gebergasse, MS Quellenstraße, HTL Spengergasse) slip into the role of “living books” and provide exciting insights into their projects, experiences and knowledge.
In addition, visitors can expect: a varied program with a speed pitching session, a creative work phase and the joint presentation of the specially composed “StACT song”.
“Stact-Start and Act” was part of the FFG program rail Regional Talent 2022 launched and in cooperation with the Pedagogical University of Vienna, Moves – Center for Gender and Diversity as well as Otelo egen implemented.

Final event of the “Stact – Start and Act” project
After the successful completion of research cycle 2 as part of the “Stact – Start and Act” project, we look forward to inviting you to the ceremonial closing event. Students of the VS Seestadt Aspern, VS Hahngasse, MSI Gebergasse, MS Quellenstraße and HTL Spengergasse present their exciting project results in the form of a living library. In this innovative format, the students themselves slip into the role of “living books” that can be “read” by visitors in personal conversations.
