Around 30 educators accepted the invitation to take part in the European Walking Center in 2025 as part of the political education. Several school classes had the opportunity to play through the political decision-making processes at EU level as part of a role-playing game and thus experience democracy up close. The year of commemoration-among other things 30 years of EU accession and 80 years of liberation from National Socialism-is advisable to go on the footsteps of Europe and to make democracy and parliamentarianism tangible and so tangible.

The European Walking led the House of the European Union, which is home to the representation of the European Commission and the connecting office of the European Parliament through the Austrian Parliament with its “Workshop Europe in the Democracy Workshop” to the “experience of Europe”: Here, Europe can be discovered in a simple and playful way with numerous multimedia stations. The Minister of Education, the MEP Andreas Schieder and Anna Stürgkh and the Polish ambassador Zenon Kosiniak-Kamysz visited this last stop. MEP Anna Stürgkh: “Europe has to become a project of the boys again – with opportunities instead of limits. If we make education a fifth freedom of fundamental freedom, we finally create a Europe in which every training opens doors – regardless of the country in which country it was made. Our goal is clear: We want to send as many apprentices as students with Erasmus+ across Europe. Young people do not earn a Europe. Basic freedom – so that everyone has the same chance of learning, growing and arriving in Europe.
