“The control rights of MPs must be protected”
Vienna (OTS/SK) – “As data protection spokesperson, I welcome the fact that the European Court of Justice has now clarified how the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) applies to Parliament. This has cleared up any ambiguities; now it is a matter of proper legal implementation of the judgment. “It is important that the control rights of the MPs are protected.” ****
Implementing the ruling legally is a challenge, but the parliamentary groups are prepared because a working group with all parliamentary parties has been working on the topic for over a year.
