Donauinselfest 2024 on ORF: program focus on TV, radio and on ORF ON

Vienna (OTS) On the weekend, from Friday, June 21st to Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, Europe’s largest open-air concert spectacle will take place with the 41st Vienna Danube Island Festival – and the ORF as a broadcaster and media partner will be there live again! The event, which is free for visitors, will once again take place with the participation of Ö3, FM4, ORF Vienna, ORF NÖ and ORF III, which will also report comprehensively on the festival events this year and broadcast the best acts and program highlights from the various locations. ORF III is once again presenting selected concerts and cabaret programs live on all three days with a time delay – including, for the second time, from the “ORF III Culture Tent” – as well as performances from previous years for reunions, as well as two “Culture Today Special” editions, which are available for… The documentary “All of Vienna – 40 Years of the Danube Island Festival” was created to mark the anniversary of the previous year and numerous cabaret classics. The Danube Island Festival 2024 on ORF III

To get you in the mood for the Donauinselfest weekend, presenter Ani Gülgün-Mayr reports in two “Kultur Today Special” editions (Thursday, June 20th and Friday, June 21st, 7:45 p.m.) with backstage visits, reports and interviews from the festival setup . At the start of the 41st Danube Island Festival, the documentary “All of Vienna – 40 Years of the Danube Island Festival” (Friday, June 21, 8:35 a.m.), which was created to mark the anniversary last year, looks back on the phenomenon of the iconic event.

The festival series on ORF III on Friday (June 21st) will be opened by Michael Niavarani, Viktor Gernot, Alex Kristan and Co. in the program “Cabaret stars from the Donauinselfest – The best moments” (8:15 p.m.), a best-of from 2020. Afterwards, ORF III will broadcast the highlights of the “Radio Niederösterreich Schlager & Austrohits stage” live on Friday with a time delay with rock ‘n’ roll legend Peter Kraus & Band (9:40 p.m.), pop star Semino Rossi (10:55 p.m.) and “Stereoparty feat. Gary Lux” (0.05 a.m.), which puts the best local hits in a new guise with “Austropop symphonic”. ORF III also shows selected acts from the Radio FM4 festival stage such as rapper Clueso (1:20 a.m.) and Resi Reiner (2:25 a.m.).

During the day, concert highlights from past Danube Island festivals can be seen, including Falco’s legendary 1993 appearance in “Falco Live – The Falcon is back” (3:30 p.m.), Stefanie Werger (4:05 p.m.), Austria 3 (5:10 p.m.) and Umberto Tozzi (6:15 p.m.) . Afterwards, live concerts from the island will be on the program again: the Viennese duo King & Potter (7.20 p.m.) as well as the gigs from “Wolfgang Ambros & No 1 vom Wienerwald” (8.15 p.m.) and Christina from the Radio Vienna festival stage Striker (9:15 p.m.). The day after the big open-air event, ORF III looks back on a brilliant festival weekend and shows the “Cabaret highlights from the Donauinselfest 2024” (Monday, June 24th, from 8:15 p.m.): Andreas Vitásek opens the humorous evening with his “ “Magic” program “Cabaret meets football”, “Wiad scho” (8.50 p.m.) is what Walter Kammerhofer says afterwards. Ö3 rocks: With Wanda & Co.

Hitradio Ö3 ensures a brilliant grand finale at the Danube Island Festival – with lots of music from Austria. Before headliner Wanda rocks the Danube Island on Sunday (June 23rd), festival guests can look forward to the acts Alice Merton, Thorsteinn Einarsson, Loi, Ness, Nikotin and Jacob Elias. Gabi Hiller and Philipp Hansa moderate on the Ö3 stage and also report live on Ö3 with impressions and exclusive insights behind the scenes (Sunday, June 23rd, from 4 p.m.). FM4 from the Danube Island Festival 2024

On Friday (June 21st) the large festival stage at the Vienna Donauinselfest will become the FM4 stage. Featuring: Province, Juju, Clueso, Resi Reiner and Nnoa. Radio FM4 broadcasts live from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., bringing interviews, atmosphere and, above all, the concerts on the FM4 stage to everyone who cannot be there in person on the island.
