“Donald Duck” inclusive for everyone!

The Lebenshilfe, one of the leading organizations for people with disabilities, cooperates for the first time with Story House Egmont, for the popular comic classic “Donald Duck” as an issue in Easy language to bring out.

Easy language is a concept that represents information in an inclusive and accessible language to facilitate reading and understanding. With this initiative, people with reading or learning difficulties are to be better achieved. In this way, the world of comics can also be made accessible.

“Comics are there for everyone! It is a pleasure for us to give people of all ages and every ability to read our titles through this cooperation with Lebenshilfe,” explains Wolf Stegmaier, publisher for comics at Story House Egmont. “Around the Easy language -Versions of the comics are very pleased to have the expert: inside the life aid at our side to ensure that the history of clumsy Donald Duck is told in a form that is understandable and edible for everyone. “

The Federal President of the Federal Association of Lebenshilfe, Ulla Schmidt, adds: “We estimate that around ten million people are dependent on texts in easy language in Germany. Small writing, foreign words and long sentences are barriers that exclude many people. It is all the more beautiful that there are now also comics in easy language. Because reading should be fun for everyone.”

With “Donald Duck” there is a real icon and comic size in focus and forms the start of a new series that thinks comics for everyone. The title was selected in close coordination with test groups. Not only the language, but also the equipment was adapted to the wishes and needs of the readers.
