District Museum 2: Extension of the “Flashlights” show | City vienna

Vienna (OTS/RK) In September, the special exhibition “Flashing Lights – World Exhibition Vienna 1873” was launched in the Leopoldstadt District Museum (2nd, Karmelitergasse 9), which was originally only supposed to run until the end of December. The district historians have decided to extend this show: from Wednesday, January 10th to Wednesday, January 31st, the retrospectives of the former “World Exhibition” in Vienna can still be viewed.

The interesting documentation describes the preparations, the execution and the consequences of the complex project. There are pictures, writings and objects to see. Admission is free.

The museum premises in the 2nd district at Karmelitergasse 9 are open every Wednesday (4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.). Lockdown: public holidays plus days off from school. The honorary director of the Leopoldstadt District Museum is the district historian Georg Friedler, who is happy to provide information on 0664/382 34 40.
