On June 10, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. the FH of the BFI Vienna invites you to a discussion evening under the title „Make Trade Fair Again“ in the Bestroom on the Wohlmutstrasse campus a. Two renowned economic experts: Inside, the consequences of the aggressive customs policy of the Trump administration-and discuss what scope for action Europe has to ensure fair and sustainable trade relationships.
While supporters: inside of punitive tariffs argue that the free trade led to emigration to workplaces and the loss of industrial strength, critics warn: inside the economic and political risks of commercial wars. The economist and author Dr. Nikolaus Kowall (FH of the BFI Vienna) sees opportunities and dangers on both sides: in his book “Get out of the globalization trap” He advocates a regulated, social-ecological transformation of trade, in which the EU in particular must take responsibility.
