Yesterday, Thursday, the spring reception of the Association of Alternative Telekom network operators, a network partner of the Feei, took place. Representatives: Inside from business, telecom and regulation were on site to set the course for a future -proof digital infrastructure.
Spring brings renewal for Austria’s digital location. This became clear at this year’s VAT morning reception. The focus was on the planned introduction of a balanced approval fiction in the Housing ownership Act (WEG). It is intended to facilitate the interests of the owners: to maintain and facilitate the expansion of gigabit networks – a long -term claim of the VAT, which has now been included in the government program.
Positive signal for fiber optic expansion
The change of path is intended to simplify the connection to powerful fiber optic frastructure for households. Following the model of photovoltaic expansion, the consent for the expansion in multi-party houses will in future be granted if ownership does not object within two months. “The change of path makes an active contribution to digital participation and connectivity. It eliminates bureaucratic hurdles and enables all citizens: Inside, easy access to powerful digital infrastructure,” emphasizes VAT President Markus Fellhofer (BBOÖ Broadband Oberösterreich GmbH).
Cooperation as a key to success
The VAT early year reception made it clear that the future of digitization is in cooperation. Despite positive impulses, a central demand from the industry does not consider: a separate ministry of digitization. “Digitization is the key to innovation and competitiveness. A strong digital infrastructure requires clear responsibility. As a voice for the expansion of telecommunications infrastructure in Austria, we are available to politics, regulation and business as partners,” emphasizes VAT managing director Florian Schnurer.
“We are ready to develop solutions to shape the future together,” Fellhofer concluded. “Spring stands for departure – and we want to use this swing for digital progress in Austria.”
