The AUGE/UG Carinthia (Alternative and Independent Trade Unionists) calls on the new federal government to take decisive action against inflation and to implement fair measures for all citizens.
“Housing must be affordable! We are calling for a rent control in order to get the ever-increasing housing costs under control. An immediate stop to increases in energy prices is also necessary,” emphasizes AUGE/UG Carinthia.
In addition, the union calls for serious consideration of a wealth tax for the rich and large companies such as banks or OMV. “Only through fair redistribution can everyone benefit. A machine tax is needed to take growing automation into account and a fair taxation of assets to ensure social justice,” said the representatives of the independent trade unionists in Carinthia.
AUGE/UG Carinthia particularly appeals to the ÖVP when it is in the new government: “It is not enough to exclusively represent the interests of female entrepreneurs. Politicians must think of everyone – the hard-working workers, those who keep our country up to date every day.”
Finally, the independents warn against continuing to shift the burden of the crisis one-sidedly onto employees: “Whoever governs in the 21st century must take new paths – Ways of justice and social responsibility. If this does not happen, there will have to be consequences.”
