Yesterday Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner met Steyr Arm’s leadership level for an exchange of information in the Ministry in Vienna. Robert Schönfeld, founder and director of the RSBC and owner of Steyr Arms, as well as Milan Slapak, CEO of Steyr Arms, took part in the meeting. The RSBC Group has been holding 100% of the shares in Steyr Arms since April 2024.
“For the Austrian Armed Forces, Steyr Arms is a very important and reliable partner,” emphasized Defense Minister Tanner after the meeting. “With the StG77, the company produces the standard weapon of the Federal Army. Since 2017, more than 21,000 of these rifles have been bought in different variants from the Bundesheer. More than 36 million euros have been invested for this.” Since 1977, the Federal Army has been familiar with this for Austrian requirements, tailor -made weapons and uses them as a standard weapon for the armed forces. Steyr Arms precision rifles are also part of the equipment of the Federal Army.
“The exchange with Steyr Arms is particularly important to me, we have been combining a close and trusting partnership and business relationship for many years,” says Tanner. “The constant further development of the STG77 guarantees contemporary equipment of our armed forces, it is good and important that this weapon will continue to be produced in Austria.”
Robert Schönfeld and Milan Slapak also emphasized the good cooperation: “We know that we have a reliable partner in Defense Minister Tanner when it comes to the equipment of the federal army. We really appreciate this trusting and close partnership.”
