The Blum is back! After the TV premiere in November 2022 on ORF 1 – with up to 26 percent market share (12+) and an average of 676,000 viewers per episode – and placements in Netflix’s global top 10 lists for non-English-language series, between February and May of this year, among other things, the second season of “Dead Woman” took place in the impressive backdrop of the Tyrolean Alps. Before the six new episodes – with Anna Maria bother in the lead role, directed by director Daniel Geronimo Prochaska – can be seen on ORF in 2025, ORF 1 and ORF ON will show on Thursday, October 17th and 24th, 2024, from 8:15 p.m the first three episodes of the ORF/Netflix hit series to see again.
Blum (Anna Maria bother), owner of a funeral home and loving mother of two children, is shaken to the foundations of her life by the accidental death of her husband. She soon realizes that the supposed accident was a murder and that her husband was on the trail of terrible secrets. In her desperation, Blum becomes a merciless avenger and is confronted with her own abysses.
Director Nicolai Rohde (“Crime Scene”, “Innocent”) staged the six-part thriller series based on the best-selling novels by Bernhard Aichner in Tyrol and Vienna from April 20th to July 24th, 2021, with a visually stunning and top cast. Barbara Stepansky, Wolfgang Mueller, Benito Mueller, Mike Majzen and Nicolai Rohde wrote the scripts. The Austrian actors Michou Friesz, Robert Palfrader, Simon Schwarz, Gregor Bloéb, Andrea Wenzl and Gerhard Liebmann stood in front of the camera alongside Anna Maria bother. Episode 1: “In the Realm of the Dead” (Thursday, October 17th, 8:15 p.m., ORF 1)
Undertaker Blum (Anna Maria bother) watches as her husband Mark (Maximilian Kraus), a local police officer, dies in a terrible motorcycle accident. Despite the paralyzing grief, she tries to maintain her family life with her two children and the business together with her assistant Reza (Yousef Sweid). But she soon discovers a secret that puts everything in a new light.
Episode 2: “A really great artist” (Thursday, October 17th, 9 p.m., ORF 1)
The completely disturbed Dunja (Romina Küper) tells Blum about terrible events: Mark brought her to safety and has now died for it. But Dunja’s tormentors would continue to hunt her. Blum initially doubts Dunja’s statements, but then Dunja identifies one of the tormentors in a photo. Blum gets involved in a dangerous game with him. She needs to know if he killed Mark.
Episode 3: “Fear the Living” (Thursday, October 17th, 9:50 p.m., ORF 1)
The man’s sudden disappearance after meeting Blum does not go unnoticed. His mother, Johanna Schönborn (Michou Friesz), a businesswoman who is very influential in the town, investigates. It is unclear who is covering for whom in the village. When looking at her first victim’s cell phone, Blum comes across another perpetrator – she goes to see him.
Episode 4: “Mother’s Love” (Thursday, October 24th, 8:15 p.m., ORF 1)
Consumed by doubts, Blum interrupts her campaign for revenge. But when her son Tim (Lilian Rosskopf) is kidnapped as a means of pressure, she no longer shows any mercy. While her daughter Nela (Emilia Pieske) wants to show off at a party with stolen formaldehyde from the funeral home, Blum follows a lead to another perpetrator. A life-threatening fight ensues.
Episode 5: “In the balance of nature” (Thursday, October 24th, 9:05 p.m., ORF 1)
Reza saves Blum and provides makeshift care for her wound. Police inspector Danzberger (Robert Palfrader) becomes suspicious and begins to connect Blum with the events. Meanwhile, Blum’s daughter Nela gets into trouble at the rave party. When Blum and Reza pick her up from the location, Blum makes an unexpected discovery.
Episode 6: “Until the End” (Thursday, October 24th, 9:55 p.m., ORF 1)
Blum is interrogated by the police at the station and finds herself at a loss for explanations when she receives an alibi from an unexpected source. Blum is released without any reliable evidence and soon finds himself in a much more threatening situation. At the same time, Reza makes a monstrous discovery – will he be able to warn Blum in time?
