“Dancing Stars” goes into the next round! In March 2025, ten celebrities will once again take the step onto the dance floor together with their professional partners, opening the 16th season of the ORF 1 event. Four of them have already been confirmed: actress Julia Cencig, actor Aaron Karl, actor, cabaret artist and director Wolfgang “Fifi” Pissecker and TV and top chef Andi Wojta. Mirjam Weichselbraun and Andi Knoll will once again lead the ten shows – every Friday at 8:15 p.m. on ORF 1 and on ORF ON. “Dancing Stars” feeling will be exuded from November 8th, 2024, when in the brand new ORF show “Dancing Stars – Das Casting” every Friday at 8:15 p.m. on ORF 1 and on ORF ON, for the first time, a professional dancer will appear for the new one Season to be sought in March 2025.
Actress Julia Cencig about her participation: “I’m really looking forward to this challenge. For all colleagues who were part of ‘Dancing Stars’ and with whom I spoke about it, it was ‘the time of their life’ – so my first positive feeling was immediately confirmed.” And Cencig continues about her dance experience so far : “Ballet, jazz, modern – dancing was a great passion in my childhood and youth, and a few years ago I came across dance again, and I was particularly fond of Tango Argentino. The opportunity to now train with professionals is my big treat and a huge gift. I’m looking forward to intensive training with the professionals.”
“I’ve already won just because I’m allowed to take part – I’m very happy and grateful to finally be able to step onto the ORF dance floor,” enthuses Aaron Karl. How does the actor relate to dancing? “Because I fell in love, I was in the State Opera Ballet when I was ten – but apart from that I have no dance experience, I will prepare incredibly well for the show and give it my all with my usual wink. The mix of sport, challenge and the excitement of being in public is exactly what I want.”
“It’s an honor to be on board the adventure ‘Dancing Stars’, the biggest show from Austria’s largest media company,” says actor, cabaret artist and director Wolfgang “Fifi” Pissecker. “Of course there are a few concerns because it will certainly be tiring and you don’t know exactly what to expect – similar to the Way of St. James that I walked a few years ago. But primarily they are very positive feelings. For me, the show is not a competition, but an entertainment program.” And Pissecker continued about his dancing skills: “Unfortunately, I never made it to a dance school, I still can’t dance a waltz to this day – and I’m looking forward to finally really learning to dance. “
TV and top chef Andi Wojta when asked about his reaction when he was asked whether he wanted to be on “Dancing Stars”: “I was very surprised and asked for time to think about it first. Why I decided to do this is because of two women: My wife wanted to dance the waltz with me for her 20th wedding anniversary. And I hope that it works out. And I also want to make my mother happy, to whom I promised not to decline if I was asked.” And Wojta continued about dancing: “I really have nothing to do with dancing and I haven’t even realized that I really do said yes. It will be immediately obvious that I’m not the greatest Fred Astaire, but I’ll give it my all, train hard, just concentrate on ‘Dancing Stars’ and hopefully cut a good figure.”
