On the international day against child labor, June 12th, we – the “Stop child labor” initiative in cooperation with the Wienxtra Kinderinfo – cordially invite you to the Vienna Museum Quarter for the campaign day.
When: Thursday, June 12th from 11:55 a.m. to around 1:00 p.m.

Start is at 5 a.m. with a large dance campaign of over 100 children and adolescents – as a strong sign against child labor. As a special highlight, Ewald Pfleger is welcomed by Opus as a guest of honor. He provided the world hit “Live is Life” as a musical basis for the Dance action against child labor available.
The opus mastermind can be asked about this commitment and his recently published autobiography. In addition, representatives of the “Stop child labor” initiative are available for interviews.
The initiative “Stop child labor” – consisting of the Epiphany of the Catholic Jungschar, Fairtrade Austria, Solidar Austria (ÖGB), Youth a World and Kinderothilfe Austria – has been committed to a European supply chain law that contributes to effectively stopping child labor and other human rights violations. According to current reports from the International Working Organization (ILO), around 160 million children work worldwide, many of them under dangerous conditions. Although the supply chain law has already been decided by the EU Parliament, there are massive efforts of business circles to deviate regulations. However, de -bureaucratization and deregulation must never be at the expense of child rights, these have a top priority.
