The pointed political talk “Current: Die Woche” with moderator Meinrad scarcePolitics Thomas Hofer and opinion researchers Peter Hajek Review the political week on Friday at 7:35 p.m. on Puls 24 at 10:30 p.m. at ATV and Austria’s superstreamer Joy. Among other things, the results of Peter Hajek’s current opinion survey are discussed. This time one wanted to know from 500 eligible Austrians: In the inside, in a field work from 19 to 22 May, they know whether they are for or against the FPÖ’s investigation committee to deal with the Corona pandemic and the Pilnacek investigation. It was queried in a four -stage scale from “I am very for it” to “I am very against it”. The question was: “The FPÖ would like to use a parliamentary committee of inquiry to deal with the Interior Ministry with Corona pandemic and investigation around Christian Pilnacek’s death. Are you for or against such an investigation committee?”
In the population, 45 percent are in favor of the parliamentary U-committee (26 percent “I am very for it” & 19 percent “I’m more likely for it”), 39 percent, on the other hand, are negative of the project (18 percent “I am more against it” & 21 percent “I’m very against”). 16 percent of the respondents gave no statement.
With 79 percent, the FPÖ voters mainly see in the voters’ groups: Inside, the committee of inquiry on Corona pandemic and the investigation around Christian Pilnacek positive (59 percent “I’m very for this” & 20 percent “I’m more likely for it”). Only 13 percent voted (8 percent “I’m more of it” & 5 percent “I’m very against”). Among the other voters of the NEOS, SPÖ, Greens and ÖVP, a different picture shows: Here the majority votes against the above -mentioned committee of inquiry: 75 percent at the ÖVP, 56 percent each with the NEOS and the Greens, 53 percent in the SPÖ (vote with “I’m more against it”).
Opinion researcher Alexandra Siegl: “Some of the past investigation committee was more likely to be driven by party-political hickhack than serious educational work. Accordingly, the Austrians also determine the perspective: While voters are mostly for the committee of inquiry initiated by their party, this ÖVP supporter is obviously clearly. The committee is almost rejecting.
