Vienna (OTS) – A fairy tale as an “ORF KIDS” cultural highlight for children, families and everyone who loves fairy tales: On Sunday, July 21, 2024, ORF KIDS will show the lovingly staged children’s theater “Alice in Wonderland – Reimagined” – a recording at 3 p.m from Lower Austria’s fairytale summer at Poysbrunn Castle from 2014. In search of her cat “Dreamy”, daydreamer Alice ends up in Wonderland and meets its wondrous residents who have to help her save her cat from the Queen of Hearts. Will Alice see “Dreamy” again? The newly written version comes from Michaela Riedl-Schlosser, the specially composed music was contributed by Andreas Radovan, and the direction was by “Märchensommer” director Nina Blum. After the broadcast, the program will also be available on demand at kids.ORF.at.
More about the content:
Alice is a daydreamer and only feels truly understood by her cat “Dreamy”. When she disappears, Alice does everything she can to find her again. To do this, she is even willing to climb into an unknown, dark tunnel that leads her to Wonderland. But the quick-tempered Queen of Hearts, who likes to “eat” cats, rules here. Now Alice has to save her cat’s life and, above all, find her before it’s too late. Several inhabitants of Wonderland help her: above all a crazy rabbit who is always late, a hatter who invites you to have tea around the clock, a caterpillar who has a solution to every problem, a strange creature named Humpty Dumpty, who doesn’t know whether he’s an egg or a human, and many, many others. With Elisabeth Nikoletta Halikiopoulos (Alice 1), Gudrun Nikodem-Eichenhardt/Viktoria Hillisch (Alice 2), Sophie Resch (Alice 3), Ulla Pilz (Teacher, Queen of Hearts, Door), Randolf Destaller (Rabbit), Daniel Ogris (Humpty Dumpty, King of Hearts, school warden), Christian Kohlhofer (hatter, playing card soldier, door) and Valentina Kratochwil (caterpillar, hedgehog, door).
