Cultural festival “Wienwoche” is looking for artistic management from 2026

Die Tender is aimed at people with proven expertise in the field of festival concept and organization, performance, art and activism. following Tasks Waiting for the new artistic direction:

• Contemporary further development of the Vienna Week festival in the urban and Vienna-specific context from 2026
• Overall concept, plan and implementation of the festival
• Curatorial and artistic support of the festival projects
• Target -oriented cooperation with the commercial management taking into account the available budgets
• Organization and implementation of the events
• Development of new publications and media positioning
• Reporting and project accounting
• Personnel responsibility for teams and artists

The applicants should meet the following profile:

• Well -founded experiences in artistic curating and cultural management
• profound knowledge of the free scene of Vienna
• High motivation, initiative and teamwork
• Awareness of discrimination and diversity-sensitive know-how
• Reliability, flexibility and resilience, especially during the festival time
• Media literacy and multilingualism is an advantage
• independent and structured way of working

Framework:

• Contract duration: two years with possibility to be unique extension
• Salary: 3150 euros gross, 14 month salaries based on 30 hours per week

About Vienna Week

Wienwoche is an annual art and cultural festival in Vienna, which has been taking place for ten days in September since 2012. It positions itself as a (post-) migrant, queer feminist festival for art and activism and sees cultural work as an active participation in social, political and cultural debates. The aim is to expand the artistic and cultural practices and make them accessible to all social groups living in Vienna. The city of Vienna enables the Wienwoche with an annual funding amount of 480,000 euros.
