Due to the damaged road construction and due to the damage caused, the lanes at the intersection of the B 8 with the L 6 in Deutsch Wagram (Gänserndorf district) no longer corresponded to today’s traffic requirements. For these reasons and to increase traffic safety, the state of Lower Austria, together with the Lower Austrian road service, has decided to renew this intersection and the connecting areas. The intersection is frequented with an average traffic volume of around 25,000 vehicles a day.
The work for concrete ceiling renewal is carried out by the company Bauunternehmung Granit GmbH. The costs for this amount to around 560,000 euros, with 490,000 euros from the state of Lower Austria and 70,000 euros are borne by the municipality of Deutsch-Wagram. The construction work is expected to be completed in eight weeks. Due to the traffic load on the intersection, the renovation work is only possible with partial blocking of individual lanes. The repair work takes place in three construction phases.
In the course of the construction phase 1, the southern of the three wind turbines of the B 8 and the south section of the L 6 are renovated. The traffic on the state road B 8 is swung north in both directions. The L 6-Süd is closed to all traffic during this phase. Due to the total lock in the construction site area on the L 6, the use of the bypass on the B 8 is not possible. The traffic is diverted via the intersection of the B 8 with the L 3019 via Raasdorf and the L 2 towards the margraphneusiedl.
In the construction phase 2, the middle of the three windows of the B 8 are renovated. The two outer lanes are bloated to the northern or southern edge of the road. A cross of the B 8 and a turning turn from the L 6 into the B 8 is not possible. The right -bent traffic from the B 8 to the L 6 is to be maintained via the bypass. The diversion is carried out analogously to the construction phases 1 and 3.
In the course of the construction phase 3, the northern of the three windows of the B 8 and the north section of the L 6 are renovated. Traffic on the state road B 8 is vanished to the south in both directions. It is not possible to turn left at the intersection of the B 8 with the L 6-north in this phase. Coming north from the direction of Pillichsdorf via the state road L 12 will continue to be directed to Bockfließ and the L 13 to the intersection B 8 / L 13.
