So it’s high time for all Styrian friends to get their tickets www.steirerball.com to secure your dirndl blouse or traditional suit, book your hairdresser’s appointment, choose jewelry and matching accessories, get in the mood for the midnight performance with songs from the popular pop trio “Folkshilfe,” and brush up on your rusty dance steps for the polka and midnight quadrille.
Because next Friday, on January 12th, 2024, the Styrian Association in Vienna will let the facade and entrance of the Hofburg shine in green splendor again and invite you to the Styrian dance highlight of the Vienna ball season from 8:00 p.m. “We can hardly wait to welcome our ball guests to the festively decorated state halls of the Hofburg. Whether in the reconstructed Styrian Wine Route, at the beer tapping or in the Styrian cocktail bar, we bring together Styrian cheerfulness with the elegance of the Vienna Hofburg,” says Andreas Zakostelsky, chairman of the Styrian Association in Vienna and ball organizer.
Hearty sounds from the Ausseerland-Salzkammergut
This time the guest region is the Ausseerland-Salzkammergut, which brings not only daffodils and miners but also Schnalzer and the typical, colorful Flinserln to Vienna. But the Steirerball 2024 doesn’t just have a lot to offer visually. Ball visitors are also offered musical opportunities from numerous regional music groups from the host region: The “Ausseer Bradlmusi”, the “AltBadSeer Musi”, the “Kreuzsaiten Musi”, “D Röthelstoana”, the “Ausseerland Bläs” and the “Seidlzupf-Musi” invite you to shake your dance leg. The top act at the Styrian ball evening is the appearance at midnight by the Austrian band “Folkshilfe” – known for their hits “Hau di her”, “Schena Mensch” and “Najo eh”. “January 12, 2024 will be special for us. We’ll really shake up the Panther Hall at midnight. We’re looking forward to it,” says Florian Ritt, “Folkshilfe” frontman.
Styria on the palate
The Steirerball is increasingly becoming a top culinary event of the Vienna ball season. On January 12, 2024, Styrian culinary delights will ensure the maximum Styrian feeling in the Vienna Hofburg: At the Steirerball there will be char from the Ausseerland-Salzkammergut, the cult pumpkin seed oil egg dish and exclusive Styrian wines – including wines from this year’s Sauvignon world champion Florian Lieleg. “We offer our guests culinary enjoyment in a class of its own. Top winemakers from Styria present their wine specialties in the Hofburg,” says Zakostelsky.

Admission tickets for 119 euros as well as seat tickets for the cheerful and elegant Federal State Ball on January 12, 2024 in the Vienna Hofburg are available at www.steirerball.com available for purchase. Students with a valid student ID pay 54 euros for an admission ticket up to the age of 30.
